"Never give up" are the words written under a picture of a kid trying to learn to ride a bike for the first time. These are the ever so popular motivation posters that being used to help motivate people. The reason why they work is because they often have a picture of some incredible scenery or a moment of accomplishment. Pictures are worth a thousand words and because of this, one picture not only describe a powerful scenario but it can bring the feelings of power and confidence instantly to the viewer.
For instance, I have a motivational poster in my room with a picture of an eagle flying majestically across a lake with a motivational quote underneath that says, "Until you spread your wings, you'll have no idea how far you can fly." When I see the image of an eagle, the first thing that comes to my mind is freedom. To me, that means freedom from a life where I have to settle for what the average person settles for. It means being able to live a life where I can choose what I want to do and not have to worry about financial obligations. The quote for me means to take action. Whenever I feel unsure about myself, it tells me that until I try, I will never know how far I can go.
This is the power of motivational posters. They aren't just for covering up that crack you have on the wall. They can literally drive you into action when you are feeling beaten down and want to give up. When choosing a poster, you want to get one that has both a picture of something that will instantly make you think passionately about your dreams and goals. A picture that will stir you emotions and will make you want to take action. You also want one with a motivational quote that speaks directly to you. A quote that once read, will remind you of the promise you made to yourself to never give up on your dreams. These posters can make for a powerful motivation tool when you are finding it hard to keep pursuing your goals.
