Are You Okay With Status Quo?

From the beginning of grade school to graduation, all of us were judged on the basis of the grades we had earned at the end of each quarter. A's and B's were above average, D's and F's were below average and you guessed it...C's were average. Not top of the class, and not failing, but right down the middle of the road. And we were taught that average was okay.

Many adults continue living their lives with that same mind-set: status quo, average and mediocre. Status quo actually means the condition or state of affairs that currently exist. If we are willing to settle and live our lives in the current conditions, any dreams we've been holding onto will be lost. With the loss of our desire to become more, we will find it impossible to excel and move forward.

The reality is that status quo is not okay. If you are not moving forward, you are moving backward.

Keeping your car in neutral while idling in the driveway is safe, and greatly reduces your chances of being in an accident-a low risk situation. However, life doesn't happen in the driveway, it happens out on the road. Status quo is a safe place to be, with its limited expectations and reduced chances for failure, but it will keep you from 'going places' in life.

Very little is expected of average people, which translates into a lack of opportunities for success. The reality is, the label of average will follow you in every area of your life: average relationships, average job or career, average expectations and, of course, average results.

You were not designed to be average. Inside your DNA is a champion and a world-changer. Change the way you see yourself, and you will soon be backing your car out of the driveway and cruising down the freeway of life. You will discover a new you-happy and fulfilled as you begin making a difference in the world around you.

Expect more from yourself and expect more for yourself. You deserve it!
